The Science of Beer – A SciCafe Event
Another meeting of my two favorite things: science and beer! On Tuesday, October 23, I will be sitting down with Tom Williams of St. Pete Brewing and Rob Lorlei, news director of WMNF Community Radio to talk about the science of making great beer! It is a free event to anyone of drinking age, and will be held at the Ale and the Witch craft beer bar in downtown St. Petersburg.
While this event is free of charge, please RSVP if you are going to come so they can get a rough count. This will also serve as a mini-fundraiser for the Secrets of the Sea Marine Exploration Center and Aquarium (coming soon) and St. Petersburg Science Festival. It is presented by The Pier Aquarium and sponsored by David. E. Ramsey, CFP, Vice President, Investments and Raymond James, the American Chemical Society and The Ale and the Witch.
There will be some “Chance Tickets” sold, with prizes like AMC theater tickets, local restaurant gift cards, and so on. All of this is a precursor to the St. Petersburg Science Festival: Science in the Sun. With exhibitors showing off exciting science-themed projects like robotics, biotech, marine technology, astronomy, etc., there is something for everyone. USF St. Pete is again the host, and it should be a fun time for people of all ages.
Cheers!
