The $202.50 Beer – Seventh Sun Grand Opening
The bids were fast and furious, but after ten days, the first official pour of a Seventh Sun Brewing beer sold for a whopping $202.50 on eBay this weekend. The proceeds go to Clearwater’s Homeless Emergency Project (HEP), and the beer will be poured at the official Release Party this Saturday. According to the official press release, the winning beer will be poured at Seventh Sun’s official launch on January 7th at 2pm.
In addition, Dunedin’s Olde Bay Café will be offering up a smattering of excellent food to kick-off the event. The owners of Olde Bay have been a fishing family dating back to the 1970’s and the restaurant offers an array of seafood, sandwiches and smoked meats. One of Tampa’s most popular gourmet food truck – the Wicked ‘Wiches – will join the party a little later in the afternoon with a variety of unique sandwiches, some of which come deep fried. Local bluegrass band, the Crackerbilly’s, will be there as the perfect musical pairing to the ten taps.
“We will have limited amounts of some beer styles pouring that day, so we advise people to get here early,” said owner and brewer Justin Stange.
“Justin has been working around the clock to get these ready and we’ve got some fun beers up our sleeve that you won’t want to miss,” added owner Devon Kreps.
The event will expand in to the brewery’s parking lot so suggested parking alternatives include the free lots in downtown Dunedin or at Hammock park up the road on Broadway.
Seventh Sun Brewing is located in Dunedin at 1012 Broadway. More information is available at http://www.facebook.com/seventhsunbeer.
